Since our inception in 2019, we have directly rescued, provided funding to rescue organizations, and provided vetting funding, medication, and supplies to pet parents for more than 200 dogs and cats. The stories on this page are just a handful of the happy babies that we've saved. And, when we rescue homeless cats and dogs in Metro Atlanta, we follow these companion animals' journeys until their adoption to ensure that they receive the happy forever homes they deserve!
We found this friendly gal in the street right around Valentine's Day 2021. She's around 6 months to a year old, and is quite the talker! Because she's such a friendly girl, we were able to place her immediately with a foster! |
Adorable little Sweetpea was found on the street, which is no place for a 5-week old kitten! Thankfully, she was accepted into Planned Pethood where she will be adopted out to a loving home. |
This cute pair was found across the street from the warehouse of two of our Board Members. Siamese Milo and Tortie Maddie certainly were in the right place at the right time! Our Board Members were able to place them with Planned Pethood where they both were adopted! |
Charlie is a senior cat whom we rescued off the street and made sure that he got the veterinary care he needed. We had him neutered, got him a much-needed dental, and also discovered that he is FIV-positive and that his old eye injury doesn't hurt or impair him. We adopted this sweet old man out to a family where can live out his golden years with love and the companionship of another kitty! |
Poor little Oreo was hit by a car and found North of Atlanta. It wasn't clear if he had been dumped on the side of the road already injured or if his injury occurred close to where he was found. One thing was for sure--Animal Savers was going to fix this guy up and give him another shot at life! Though his leg was shattered in three places and he had a broken pelvis, after surgery he is doing great! He now has three legs, as his broken leg could not be saved, but he was up and walking and using a litter box less than a week out of surgery! What a warrior! We're now looking for the perfect home for this very special guy. We have a Go Fund Me Site to assist with vet care for Oreo and Midnight, should you feel inclined to contribute to their care!

Chester is an adorable 5 month-old kitty who was found behind a a building in Gwinnett County. One of our Board Members fostered Chester, and though he was very shy at first, when he was put in a crate with Blackie, he became more confident. Now Chester and Blackie are best friends! Blackie is a wonderful ambassador kitty whose friendly spirit shines. She was 6 weeks-old when one of our volunteer rescuers found her hiding in the suspension of a car and rescued her. These best friends are about to have a happy ending to their stories because Furkids agreed to take them into their shelter for adoption!

One of our foster rescued poor Midnight after he had a fight with another cat and had his eye partially ripped out. Fortunately, Animal Savers was able to pay for his care and he was operated on to remove his eye. He is currently recuperating and we are working on finding him a permanent home. We have a Go Fund Me Site to assist with vet care for Oreo and Midnight, should you feel inclined to contribute to their care!

Tiger and his sister Tuximi were rescued together from a commercial area in a suburb of North Atlanta by mom and daughter good Samaritans. They were very friendly kitties and did not seem feral, so their rescuers brought them to us and we brought them to Furkids and paid their surrender fee. Both are estimated to be 10 weeks old and are only 2.2 lbs. They are now available for adoption at Furkids who will make sure that they are fully vetted before matching them to a loving home! |
Tiny, 6 week-old Roswell was named after the very busy street he was found on where he was hiding in some bushes. His rescuer brought him to us, and we brought him to Patty's Kitties, a rescue group who will foster him and then find him a great forever home! |
Lily is in a loving foster home and is thriving, but just a few weeks ago she was a tiny kitten found in the street at just 5 weeks old! One of our volunteer rescuers scooped her up and out of danger, and she is now ready for adoption! |
Let us paint you the sad picture of Picasso's life before we rescued him! He was found in an apartment complex, most likely left behind by a family when they moved, as is the case with so many homeless companion animals in Atlanta. Because he was such a loving boy, we knew he was ready for adoption, and we brought him to the Atlanta Humane Society where he was indeed quickly adopted! |
Spring, Summer, and Winter--the "Seasons Kittens" were found by one of our volunteer rescuers. She noted that they were the sweetest, friendliest, most affectionate kitties you will ever meet! This is especially striking since they were found outside with no apparent home, just fending for themselves. They are calm, they like to be held, they are playful . . . they are perfect! And since these babies were ready for adoption, we brought the Seasons Kitties to Atlanta Humane where they were all adopted into loving homes! |
Grey is quite the beauty, isn't she? One of our volunteer rescuers found her at only 10 weeks old and 2.2 pounds behind a strip center in a suburb of Atlanta. Only, Grey was not alone . . . she was rescued along with her three siblings (one of whom is Kali to the right), and right now our rescuer is also trying to rescue her Mom. After fostering the babies for 10 days, ASA brought Grey and her sister Kali to Atlanta Humane to go on the adoption floor, and we'll be bringing her other siblings in shortly. |
Striking Calico kitty Kali is one of Grey's sisters, and, with Grey, was taken to the Atlanta Humane Society to find a loving home after she was rescued and fostered. We wish both sisters and their other two siblings the best of luck finding a loving home, and we are following their journey until adoption! |

Stunning, mustachioed Charlie was a 10-week old scared, feral kitty when he was found by a rescuer who took him off the street and brought him to us for fostering. We spent a lot of time with him and he made a remarkable turnaround personality-wise. He loves to be held, have his neck and behind his ears scratched, and doesn’t want you to put him down! At four months old, we brought Charlie to Atlanta Humane Society for adoption where he is sure to find a loving family. |
Because he was sickly, we rescued Moo Moo from a feral colony in Atlanta when he was only 9 or 10 weeks ago and a mere 2.3 pounds. His black/white dairy cow markings stole our hearts and earned him his name. He has blossomed from an underweight baby with worms and fleas to a healthy boy who perks up at the sound of a spoon hitting a wet food can! After nursing him back to health, we brought him to the Atlanta Humane Society where he is in the adoption room and will find an excellent family of his own! |
This little 6 week old kitty was found on the side of a very busy interstate access road in Atlanta by one of our cat rescuers. He was very friendly and we took him to Atlanta Humane to be adopted. |
Black beauty Kudzu earned her name because she was found in a kudzu patch (hey, this is Atlanta!) by a sewer. One of our rescuers brought her to us and we brought her to Atlanta Humane to go on the adoption floor and find a loving home! |

Gorgeous Tux was left overnight at the warehouse of one of our Board members probably because the Atlanta community knows us as animal rescuers. When our Board Member showed up to work the next day, there was this tiny, 2-month old fluffy boy! We took Tux to the Atlanta Humane Society for adoption, and while he waits for his family he enjoys playing with his buddy Lucky! |
Little Princess Leia was one of five kittens born to a Mama who was rescued and very sick with mastitis. Sadly, tiny Princess Leia was born with a protruding rectum and needed immediate surgery. We paid for her surgery which she had at just 10 days old, and this little warrior princess is recovering very nicely. Along with her sister Milky Way (below), she went to a wonderful foster in April 2020! |
Milky Way and her sister Princess Leia (above) went to a wonderful foster after we rescued them and their very sick Mama in April 2020! |
Ladies, are you swooning over Blue Eyes? We were too! Four -year old Blue Eyes was found on the street in March 2020 by one of our volunteer rescuers when he showed up at one of her feeding stations for homeless cats. She realized he was very sweet and was able to bring him home. A Board Member then took Mr. Blue Eyes to Atlanta Humane Society , knowing he'd be adopted soon. We just didn't realize it would only be two days later! From the street to a loving home within a week—this is why we do what we do! |
This super friendly 8 year-old polydactyl (a "Hemingway cat") was rescued along with his brother in March 2020 when their Mom was forced to flee her apartment very quickly as a victim of domestic abuse. One of our volunteer rescuers, familiar with the situation, contacted a Board Member who brought the cats to the Atlanta Humane Society where Animal Savers Atlanta made a donation to cover the costs of vetting and caring for them. |
One of our Board Members rescued this little Siamese female on July 4, 2019. We suspect she was dumped in the apartment complex where she was found. Unfortunately, the little kitten had bite marks all over, and the vet diagnosed her with infections and started her on antibiotics. Once she felt better, our wonderful Board Member took her to the Atlanta Humane Society where she was adopted by a pre-teen girl and her family whose father told our Board Member that his daughter wanted a kitten to love and mother. We think it is wonderful that the two of them will grow up together! |
In October 2019, we were contacted by one of our partner vets about a client who brought in a 9 year-old French Poodle to be euthanized because of her medical needs. Our organization offered to pay for a vet exam and learned that little Moon has limited vision and Cushing's Disease. We were not going to let this sweet girl be euthanized for her medical conditions, and instead we found her a wonderful foster. We continue to pay for Moon's medication management to keep her healthy and happy! |
Six-month old Scout was found in a gas station parking lot by himself in the Fall of 2019. He was thin and FIV-positive, but otherwise in good health. Scout initially had a couple of foster homes, and by all accounts he was an incredibly loving kitty whose favorite activities are being held and eating tuna! We were able to place Scout with our partner vet once his last foster situation fell through, and within a couple of months of charming clients in the reception area, a wonderful couple adopted him. He is now a spoiled only child, and has settled into his new home very quickly, eating well and being playful with his parents! |
This little girl was stuck in a tree for three days before she was rescued! One of our Board Members fostered her and named her the obvious choice of "Love Bug" because she is so sweet. After only a week, Love Bug found her forever home with a lovely retired couple who adopted her and spoil her rotten! |
